Mother’s Day Gift Guide Simplified // DC Family Photographer
Guys…we know. We know. As working moms, we know how crazy life gets, how hard it is to buy gifts for someone you love, and how time consuming it can be…so we thought we’d share a few of the things we know most moms would be thrilled to have, and they can all be ordered online in less than 5 minutes. (how’s THAT for easy?!)
- First the card…instead of grabbing one at Target or Hallmark this year, why not grab one that will be totally unique, created by US artisans and delivered TO YOUR DOOR? Yeah, that’s what we thought. #yesplease We love Haven Paperie…her designs are whimsical & fun and she has super cute Mother’s Day cards in her shop right now. If the mom your buying for is a paper & card lover, then you might even grab her a subscription to their card service or one of their beautiful prints!
- Gift Boxes…these are not any gift boxes…these are beautifully wrapped, curated gift boxes each with a theme. There are a variety of price points and we would be thrilled with any of them. (Particularly ones with candles, specialty teas and soaps like the Spa Day!)
- Flowers…skip 1800Flowers this year and grab a bouquet from Farmgirl Flowers or Bouqs…they are gorgeous, delicate creations that will look like you just grabbed them from the farmer’s market except that they come to your door instead. #winning
- Gift Cards…to the right places. There are a million places we could come up with but here are some of our favorite spots to shop. (Feel free to break away from this list; as long as the card isn’t to Lowe’s or the grocery store, you’re probably good to go).
- Shop Bando
- Merrifield Garden Center (or your local garden center if she’s a plant lover like us!)
- Framebridge (you could get extra brownie points if you frame some photos for her)
- Loren Hope
- Any kind of local spa for massage, manicure, or pedicure, or her favorite local coffee shop
- The Meal…as you ought to know, Mama does NOT want to cook on mother’s day. But if you forgot to make reservations or want to avoid crowded restaurants, then grab carry out from your favorite Thai or burger joint and head out for a family picnic. You can even bring your own drinks & treats to top it off.
